Olathe KS Project - Gold Star Families Memorial Monument
The Project Committee for the GSFMM located in Olathe, KS is excited to announce they will be recognizing and honoring Gold Star Families with a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the Veterans Memorial Park in Olathe.
Veterans Day 2016 was the OFFICIAL GROUNDBREAKING.
Medal of Honor Recipient and Co-Founder of the HWWMOHF, Woody Williams will meet with community leaders on Friday, November 18th. The HWWMOHF will present a $5,000 check as matching seed monies.

A Gold Star family is a wife, husband, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, parent through adoption, foster parents who stand or stood in place of parents, children, stepchildren, children through adoption, brothers, sisters, half brothers, half sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and grandparents of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States that sacrificed their life for our way of life and the American flag under which they served. The Gold Star Family Memorial was created by Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody’ Williams to remember those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
